On first launch, the game will ask in Japanese if you would like to setup stuff manually or accept the default options. To select the default options, say "no" twice. No is いいえ which is the menu option on the right. Visual people, see the attached picture.
The game is in English by default. To play the game in Japanese, delete srp_2.pac file in the game folder. A backup of this file is under /Extra/Patch_Eng_KAZOKUSAIMIN.rar
