The game focuses on the relationship between MC and Sophia, showing how they first met and how their relationship developed over the years. What started as a loving and peaceful relationship eventually became strained by financial problems, work, family responsibilities, and constant arguments. Seventeen years later, MC and Sophia are married with two children, William and Harper. Although they still care about each other, their relationship is far from what it used to be. MC has become distant, impatient, and increasingly focused on work and their financial problems, while Sophia tries to keep the family together. MC and Sophia deciding to move to a cheaper apartment in an attempt to solve their financial problems. The family moves into an older building, hoping that the change will give them a fresh start. After arriving, they meet James, the building's janitor. He immediately takes an interest in Sophia, while MC remains completely unaware of his intentions.
